Manual drivers, what keyboard controls do you use?

Mine are:

Accelerate, Brake, left and right turns: Arrows
Handbrake: Z
Full Throttle: Shift
Shift Up: Control
Shift Down: Option
Rear View: Command
Pause: Are you joking? Don't touch it.
Horn: X but I've never been in the habit of using it so I don't even think about it.

Well, here comes the »original-zaphod-crossed-hands-technique«: On my extended keyboard i use my left hand for gas (middle finger | up arrow) and brake (pointer | down arrow). And my right hand for steering left (pointer | left arrow) and right (middle finger | right arrow).
Left hand ring finger does full throttle (shift key) and downshifting (enter). Left thumb for looking backwards (ctrl). Right hand ring finger is for upshift (Keypad zero). — Looks a little silly, but i got used to it...

This works nicely. However I was intrigued by Gizmo's down-arrow handbrake, I'll have to try that.

and a 13'3 inch 2.16 ghz macbook, the teeny tiny kb (very low action keyboard, touching the key presses it almost)

steering- left & right arrows

brakes - down arrow

full throttle- shift

accel - control ( yes it is useful in bl & not just for autos )

hand brake - space bar

shift up -a

shift down- z

change camera - c

look back - command

horn - enter ( on my keyboard its located between my right command and my arrows which r jammed into the corner.)

pause - i deleted the assignment in the prefs... i don't believe it works... but i nvr touch the "p" key (superstitious)

and taunts r WAYYY way up thr on 1-5

thts my *current* controls

occassionally i put the brakes on the command key, full throatle on up arrow, hand break on down arrow & look back on space... good to mix it up occassionally to stay fresh.

i also put the accel on shift & full throttle on space & hand brake on up arrow for auto sometimes.... but i keep accel on the control key so i don't normaly change it for auto. howevr sometimes i make more changes for auto, i find the less similar it is to manual controls the ezier it is

basicly i keep my controls around the edges of the keyboard

another topic called "redline & computer" settings might b nice to help smooth out some's comps for this. might b timely for the tourney.

Hi everybody,

I don't use the keyboard ad all only use the "C" to change view and the "V" (which I also have in my D. Wheel) to change watching Car's on Replays

I use the Logitech Formula Force EX Driving Wheel and I'm completely Manual.

I never use Full Throttle or Shift (shift only to be stronger or fast turns on Fights)

Now you know and that's it.
